Know more about DASH
To promote physical health and fitness to the Filipino community while being a source of charity towards relevant humanitarian advocacies.
To be distinguished as an annual fun run that highlights the role of a strong, capable, and healthy citizen army in nation-building.
DASH started off as the "UP ROTC Centennial Run", jointly organized by the UPD CoC and the UP Vanguard Inc. University Chapter, back in 2012 as part of the 100th year celebration of the UP ROTC. In 2013, it was rebranded to “DASH” in reference to “running in a great hurry.” It’s a call for physical fitness and energy, characteristics which are crucial for a strong and healthy citizen army.
Throughout the years DASH has endeavored to support the advocacies of not only UP ROTC, but of various humanitarian organizations.
The UP ROTC Centennial Run benefits the UP Vanguard Inc. Scholarship Program.
DASH promotes ROTC as a viable, fun, and worthwhile option for both civilian and military leadership training.
DASH enhances the Department of Military Science and Tactics as a center for relief operations in the university.
DASH promotes ROTC by providing training experience in urban survival orientation course to UP Student leaders.
DASH supports troops deployed at the Kalayaan Island Group.
DASH promotes ROTC as still a viable program for the youth through offering fun after-run activities.
DASH aids the rehabilitation of Marawi and Palompon Leyte through the Medical Special Support Squadron, Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary.
DASH benefits the Hero Foundation: Be a HERO to our HEROES’ children, an organization that helps families of our fallen soldiers and provides educational stipends to military orphans.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we’ve had to adapt to the “new normal” situation. In this year’s installment of DASH, the UPROTC Corps of Cadets and the UP Vanguard Incorporated - University Chapter will conduct its first ever Virtual Charity Run. This run aims to promote and support the UP Vanguard’s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) efforts.
The UP Vanguard Inc. regularly conducts Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) initiatives aimed towards long-term and sustainable contribution, through rehabilitation, reconstruction, and risk mitigation efforts to typhoon-stricken areas, as part of its advocacy of providing service and leadership to the country. One of the recent DRRM initiatives by the organization was for the benefit of the residents of the island of Rapu-Rapu in Albay, Bicol, which was badly affected by Typhoons Rolly and Ulysses back in 2020.
